Purchasing & Shipping Info

I want you to be happy with your new artwork! If you have any questions please contact me in advance at cyn@ofinkandinsight.com

I’ll do everything I can to minimize your wait time and expense. But if you are new to buying original art, please understand that shipping artwork, even short distances, is labor-intensive and expensive.

VARIATIONS

Every care has been taken to show the artwork online as accurately as possible with regard to size and color. The images you see online will vary from the original due to differences among browsers, devices and screen calibration.

Original artwork ALWAYS looks different in person than it does on your computer or mobile device. Please expect to be surprised and delighted when your artwork arrives.

PAYMENT & TAXES

Payments are accepted by credit card only.

Sales of original artwork or reproductions and associated shipping are subject to sales tax when purchased in Minnesota, even if they are purchased online. Sales made outside of Minnesota MAY be subject to sales tax according to the tax laws in each state.

Sales tax, if applicable, will be calculated and added to the total at the time of purchase.

FINISHING & FRAMING

Many artworks are not varnished or sealed with wax until they are sold. Finishing time can take up to two weeks to ensure the artwork is fully dry before shipping. The status of the artwork’s finish should be indicated in the description of available artwork. If not, please contact me to verify.

Even if pictured as framed, works on paper are not shipped with mats or frames unless specified in the description. Shipping glass does not generally end well, so I leave the framing in the hands of buyers and their favorite professional framer. Unframed artwork will be mounted to a sturdy backing and packaged well for shipping.

LOCAL PICKUP

To arrange for pickup of your artwork in Saint Paul, Minnesota, please contact me after completing your purchase to schedule. See FINISHING above.

Artwork that is scheduled for pickup is only lightly packaged for transit. If you require special packaging or crating, please let me know and I can arrange it at an additional charge.

SHIPPING

Finished original artwork shipping to locations in the continental US and under 24 inches in width or height will be packed and shipped within 5 working days. Within the US, is shipped via Priority Mail, UPS or FedEx. A shipping confirmation will be emailed to the buyer when artwork has been picked up by the carrier.

Artwork that ships outside the continental US or exceeds 24 inches in width or height requires special crating and shipping. Buyers have many options for shipping larger, more expensive artwork. So I prefer to connect buyers with a reputable local art shipper to make those arrangements directly.

SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping costs are not included in the price of artwork.

When possible, an estimated shipping cost is provided at checkout based on the size and weight of the work and your location.

If the actual cost of shipping turns out to be significantly more than estimated, I will contact the buyer with a second invoice. Artwork will not ship until all invoices are paid in full.

If the artwork requires special crating and shipping arrangements, the cost cannot be determined at the time of purchase and will need to be paid by the buyer directly to a local art shipper.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS

Shipping outside the continental US will take longer to ship and requires special crating and shipping arrangements. Buyers have many options for international shipping. So I prefer to connect buyers with a reputable local art shipper to make those arrangements directly.

I’m unable to accept a return on any artwork sent outside of the continental US. For this reason, it’s recommended that buyers purchase shipping insurance to assure safe arrival and reserve the ability to submit a claim in case the shipment does not arrive or is damaged in transit. All losses are retained by the buyer.

Overseas shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes according to the laws of the destination country. Any additional charges are payable by the buyer.

RETURNS

All work is carefully packed to ship. If you receive a work that has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days with details and photos of both the artwork and the packaging.

I’m unable to offer a refund or return on any product(s) sent outside of the continental US.

For buyers within the continental US, if a painting is not as you expect, you have 14 days to contact me by email and request a return and refund.

Once a return has been agreed upon, buyers are responsible for packing and shipping at the buyer’s expense. Once the piece has been safely returned and inspected, a refund of the cost of the artwork shall be made to the original purchasing credit card within 14 days.

It is required that buyers purchase shipping insurance for return shipments. If artwork is returned damaged beyond repair, no refund will be made. Making a claim for damaged shipments will be the buyer’s option and responsibility, and I will provide as much detail as possible to the buyer for that purpose.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
