stitch

let me read it to you…

spool of thread

neatly wound waiting

to punch stitches through

the layers

make something of nothing

marry the bits

into one story, one foretelling

snip off just enough

not too long

or you’ll get tangled

needle’s eye a test of steadiness

a little spit a little twist

exhale

that’s how it all begins

The most enjoyable result of trusting this process of writing is learning something new about yourself and developing a healing sense of being fully expressed, a few things most of us lose touch with as we grow into serious adults.

Now you may think you have nothing to write about, but I promise you do. Your whole life is made of stories.

These moments, as ordinary as they may seem, are precious and beautiful when they fall as ink onto paper.

And every word is practice for something deeper - courage, letting go, persistence, acceptance, gratitude.
